MENTAL HEALTH &
THE ARAB SPRING
This year, PGTN will travel to Egypt, a country in the midst of challenging change, and participate in a conference in which key mental health issues are discussed.
Psychiatrists Global Training Network (formerly called Psychiatrists Without Borders) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit medical group comprised of mental health and other healthcare consultants who aim to decrease illness, stigma, and abuse through increasing access to mental health training and care.
PGTN trains health workers in impoverished, resource-limited communities to provide basic mental health interventions to individuals & families in need.

In communities where little or no mental health care exists, people with mental conditions are at risk for increased illness, stigma, and abuse. Their fundamental right to mental health & happiness can be compromised .
